Positive relationships with adults are important in the lives of all children. CTRT is based on Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) and was adapted for the classroom to help teachers learn to strengthen this potential relationship that has an effect on student behavior. Research indicates that the teacher-child relationship is a contributing factor in young children’s successful academic, emotional and social development. A positive student-teacher relationship not only impacts student's behavior but any teacher’s competence and success as well. Based on the idea that the quality of the teacher-child relationship and children’s behavior in classroom are related, participants in this workshop will learn:
- Child- centered skills of the approach
- To set therapeutic limits in classroom
- To recognize and respond to children’s feelings
